D-49 homeschool program now enrolling
Falcon School District 49 offers a program for homeschool students and their familiesThe growing Falcon Homeschool Enrichment Program (FHEP) is currently enrolling Kindergarten through 8th grade students.Information sessions are planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 6, 13 and 15 at the program offices, 7545 Mohawk Road.Two more summer park days are scheduled to give parents and kids a chance to get to know one another. The first is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday July 31 in Black Forest Regional Park, 4800 Shoup Road. The Aug. 7 summer park day is at the same time, at Fox Run Regional Park, 2110 Stella Dr.As part of the program, families gain access to a curriculum lending library and have the option to participate in testing events required by law.Students enrolled in the program can participate in science and social studies courses, field trips and other activities. Optional math and language arts classes are availble for students in sixth through eighth grades.
