Springs student beats more than 150,000 for scholarship

Mark Angeles of Colorado Springs was one of 40 college students chosen to receive a $1,000 U.S. Bank scholarship.A sophomore at Reed College in Oregon, Angeles was selected from more than 150,000 students from across the country who applied to the program. His activities include organizing a mentoring program between Reed College and a nearby middle school, and participating in Weapons of Mass Distraction, a fire dancing troupe.Angeles is studying psychology and neuroscience.
