WALDO CANYON FIRE: Rock Ledge Ranch’s Old-Fashioned 4th of July is on
Rock Ledge Ranch will be open on July 4 for an old-fashioned celebration. The site had been closed as a precaution during the nearby wildfire.
Bring the family and time travel the day away from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., say the ranchhands.
Rock Ledge Ranch is located south of the main entrance to Garden of the Gods.
Bring a picnic or hot dogs, sodas and homemade ice cream will be for sale.
Meet time travelers:• George Washington will read the Declaration of Independence at the Revolutionary War Encampment• Join Abraham Lincoln as he visits the Civil War Encampment• General William Palmer will be visiting with guests near the Orchard House• Katharine Lee Bates will present “America the Beautiful” on the Orchard House lawn• Patriotic music by the Fountain Creek Brass Band by the Orchard House• Carnival games in the barn, a candy scramble in the hay at the Garden Shed, watermelon eating and seed spitting contents.
