Daniels Long is proud to be the exclusive Tuscany Upfitter for GM

As a leader in the custom automobile conversion industry, Tuscany has partnered with General Motors to offer high-quality, custom conversions to a variety of Chevy and GM vehicles. Tuscany was founded in 1988 and is the leading manufacturer of specialty vehicles as well as custom automobile conversions and is proud to be the forerunner in quality, innovation and dedication to customer service.  Operating out of two manufacturing facilities located in Elkhart, Indiana and Fort Worth, Texas, Tuscany’s GM products include Camaro’s, Tahoe’s, Silverado’s as well as conversion vans.

“Being the exclusive Tuscany Upfitter for GM allows our customers the opportunity to customize a brand new car to suit their style.  We also have several Tuscany customized vehicles already in our inventory.” stated Mitch Matlry, Fleet Manager and Tuscany Director at Daniels Long Chevrolet.

Along with Tuscany, GM customers can customize a wide assortment of features such as paint, grills, lights, window tint, suspension, exhaust and more.  Tuscany owners get an automotive conversion with a level of quality that includes exclusive features not found anywhere else.

For my ride-and-drive, Daniels Long provided me with the very impressive 2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS by Tuscany.   Matlry noted that “the 2012 2SS is Camaro’s top performance package.”  An attractive four-seat coupe, this car produces 426 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque in a standard six-speed manual and, like a muscle car should be, was loud, powerful, and looked intimidating.

With eye-catching paint colors of Synergy Green on bottom and Black on top separated by a secondary pinstripe, this attention-grabbing car also features a billet grille (upper and lower), Foose 20 inch wheels, chromed exhaust tips, inside painted headlights, window tinting, and interior seats that match the exterior paint theme.

The custom tuned exhaust, not only provides more power, it delivered a vigorous rumble of the 6.2 liter V-8, as well as pops and crackles on engine overrun.  If the dramatic color wasn’t already turning heads, the sound is sure to.

The four-seat coupe produces 426 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque in the standard six-speed manual.  Stabilitrak offers traction control functions and GM’s powertrain and suspension technology presents world-class overall performance capabilities.  “With the big tires and Stabilitrak, this Camaro performs better than most regular rear-wheel drive vehicles.” Said Maltry.

While driving the Tuscany throughout different thoroughfares, the Camaro definitely demonstrated significant cornering grip and responsive steering in addition to a refined suspension.  Overall the Camaro is essentially quite a comfortable ride around town and has minimal wind and road noise.

In keeping with many of today’s car manufacturers, the Camaro features an onboard communications system. The very convenient Heads-Up Display (HUD) exhibits digital readouts for vehicle speed, selected gear, audio system information, high-beam indicator, compass, outside air temperature, turn signals, tachometer, vehicle messages and phone information.  The very useful Rearview Vision Camera display is incorporated onto the rearview mirror.

An impressive audio system features a 245 watt Boston Acoustics premium 9-speaker system with AM/FM stereo, CD-ROM and MP3 jack.  Additional features of the 2SS include heated leather seats, rear spoiler, keyless entry, remote trunk release, cruise control, Bluetooth and steering wheel controls.

As far as safety goes, Chevrolet has done a great job.  Every 2012 Chevy Camaro comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and OnStar.  In government crash tests, the Camaro earned a top five-star rating overall, with five stars for overall front-crash protection and five stars for overall side-impact protection.

The Camaro remains a symbol of America’s love for the muscle car and Chevy maintains those characteristics admirably while at the same time providing a high-performing, safe and attention-grabbing automobile.
