High temperatures in Colorado Springs will top out at 95 degrees Saturday amid calm winds and low humidity, forecasters with the National Weather Service predict.

The continued hot, dry weather will continue to drive fire danger in the Pikes Region, with fire bans in force in El Paso and Teller Counties.

The hot weather comes as firefighters work to throttle the Springer fire, burning near Lake George, in Park County.

That 1,145-acre fire was 87 percent contained Saturday morning and fire officials expected full containment on the blaze by Saturday evening.

While some roads in the area remain closed, all evacuations from that fire have been lifted, the U.S. Forest Service said Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to cool down to the 60s Saturday night with light winds.

Forecasters predict a scorching Sunday with temperatures back in the 90s.

Temperatures could ease into the 80s by midweek, the Weather Service predicts.
