“Palmer Lake July 4th Fun Run”Palmer Lake Elementary School’s annual race will start at 7 a.m. on Wednesday at the Santa Fe Trail trailhead in Palmer Lake and finishing in Monument. Registration continues online through 12 p.m. Tuesday. and will also be available on race day through 6:30 a.m., , 115 Upper Glenway, Palmer Lake. U.S. Open Ultimate ChampionshipsAbout 40,000 fans are expected to attend the USA Ultimate’s U.S. Open on Wednesday through July 8. Ultimate is described as a sport a bit like football that uses a Frisbee. The tournament will feature 24 teams that will be playing in the academy’s lacrosse stadium and surrounding fields. Free. “The Meadows 4th of July Celebration”Bring your family to Bison Park at The Grange in Castle Rock for an Independence Day celebration from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday. Woodland Park Fourth of July celebrationsThere will be several activities to attend in Memorial Park on Wednesday,. including a fishing contest(8-9 a.m.) at the lake in the park; horseshoe, volleyball and basketball tournaments (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) Downtown will be ringed by vendors, including a crafters alley and a food court. “Cripple Creek’s 4th of July Celebration”Cripple Creek will celebrate the Fourth of July at the city park Wednesday. The events run into the evening and include activities for children, a beer garden, live bluegrass music starting around 12 p.m. and fireworks starting around 9:15 p.m. The skate park will be open and there will be roller skating inside the Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation Department, which will also host more activities for kids.
