Propane leak prompts evacuation at Pikes Peak summit
The Pikes Peak Summit House was evacuated Wednesday evening due to a leak on a 500-pound propane tank, the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
The leak was stopped by a Colorado Springs Fire Department hazardous materials crew about an hour after the evacuation.
Officials also had stopped traffic headed up the mountain because of the leak. Units from the Colorado Springs and Cascade fire departments headed to the summit after the leak was discovered.
