DENVER – Commemorating 25 years as a solo artist, Gordon Sumner, aka Sting, has hit the road to celebrate this Silver Anniversary milestone with the 2011/2012 “Back to Bass” Tour.

  Stopping through Denver on Sunday (11/20/11) to play for a capacity crowd at the Wells Fargo Center, Sting, and probably the smallest band he’s played with since his days in The Police, hit the stage for a night of fun, funk and fête!

Honestly, until this evening, I would not have counted myself in the rankings of being a Sting “fan,” although I have always had great respect for him as a musician. However, after watching this just turned 60 year old artist run around, play a multitude of instruments, sing, and have better chops than most artists 1/3 of his age. Well, maybe now it’s my tune that needs some re-arranging, because as of Sunday, Gordon has got a new fan!

After seeing this performance, I would highly recommend attending this tour if given the opportunity, but if you don’t get the chance to see him live then you may want to check out his new release, “Sting 25 Years,” as it not only contains a 3 disc set of many of his Grammy award winning hits, but it also comes with a dvd as well.  Which I guess would be the next best thing to being there!
