Body of heart-attack victim recovered in canyon

The body of a 65-year-old New Jersey fisherman was pulled from the water in Eleven Mile Canyon on Friday afternoon after he suffered a fatal heart attack and fell in from the bank, Park County Coroner David Kintz Jr. said Saturday.

Robert Chilstrom was fishing in the canyon on a stretch of the South Platte River below the reservoir when heart trouble struck. Friends who accompanied him on the fishing trip were too far away and didn’t see Chilstrom hit the water, Kintz said.

The current carried Chilstrom about 100 yards downstream, where rescuers recovered his body. Kintz said the heart attack caused Chilstrom’s death.
