A man sought by police was arrested from a travel camper Saturday afternoon.

Police were notified that the wanted man was in a camper in the backyard of a residence on Richards Avenue and set up containment in attempt to make contact with the three people inside.

The suspect’s mother came out and told police that the only person with her was her boyfriend asleep in the camper.

The man who she said was her boyfriend signed a consent form to gives officers permission to search the camper without a warrant.

Inside, police found the suspect hiding in a closet under clothing. He refused to exit and officers sprayed pepper spray into the closet, police said.

The man eventually surrendered. As officers handcuffed him outside the trailer, his mother attempted to obstruct the officers and she was taken into custody, police reported.

The suspect was transported to the Gold Hills Division and placed in a holding cell.

The suspect’s mother and the second man in the camper were served and released.
