Bruce e-mail describes his efforts to pass anti-tax measures
Anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce has tried to distance himself from three tax-slashing initiatives on November’s ballot.
But an e-mail Bruce sent to supporters late last month shows he’s leading efforts to pass Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101.
In the e-mail, sent Sept. 23, Bruce berates recipients for not getting involved in the campaign to pass the measures while noting how much time he has devoted to the effort.
The e-mail asks people to volunteer time handing out fliers.
“I’m asking so little — eight hours of your time in the next week, and they need not be consecutive,” Bruce wrote. “Choose a busy store exit door. Follow exactly the simple attached instructions. Say only two words, ‘Please vote.’ If you’re shy, bring a friend and do this at a TWO-exit Wal-Mart.
“Personally, I hope you will see it’s not hard, and then do it next week as well. I have spent over 1,600 hours on this effort; can’t you spare eight?”
