Sustainability will be topic at third annual roundtable Thursday

The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado will host the third annual Regional Sustainability Roundtable 12:30 to 4 p.m.  Thursday at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs University Center.

Organizers hope to gather community leaders in the business, nonprofit, government and education sectors to discuss top sustainability issues in Colorado Springs, such as jobs, energy, transportation and water.

“We are looking for people who are already working on sustainability and who feel that by collaborating, we will be much more effective,” said Janna Six, education and outreach director at the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado.

The event will feature a presentation from the Alliance about sustainability efforts around the state followed by discussions among local participants.

Before the event, there will be a tour of the new UCCS LEED-Gold Science and Engineering Building.  LEED refers to a certification for buildings that employ green technology. A presentation by Natural Capitalism Solutions about implementing sustainable practices in small and mid-sized businesses will follow the roundtable.

To Attend:The roundtable is open by reservation only to community leaders who are involved or interested in sustainability.  To RSVP contact Kelly Landau at klandau@sustainablecolorado.org.
