A man and a woman were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries after the man lost control of the motorcyle he was driving on Colorado Springs’ south east side Tuesday night.

Police said neither were wearing helmets when the motorcyle crashed around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Jetwing Drive and Academy Boulevard. The driver’s injuries were life-threatening, police said.

The northbound lanes of Academy Boulevard from the Hancock Expressway to Jetwing Drive were closed for about 3 hours after the crash.
