A 14-year-old boy died Thursday evening after crashing his bike off a loading dock and landing on his head.

The boy, whose name was not released, was riding with a friend behind the old Grocery Warehouse building, 4304 Austin Bluffs Parkway.

The teen suffered massive head trauma and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital.

He wasn’t wearing a helmet, police said.
