The elderly man killed in a crash March 25 on Palmer Park Boulevard has been identified as 92-year-old Frederic Thompkins of Grand Junction.

Thompkins was northbound in a Chevy Malibu on Northview Drive when he failed to yield at a stop sign when trying to turn west on Palmer Park Boulevard. The Malibu crossed the path of an eastbound Ford Escape and Thompkins was struck on the driver’s door, Spanswick said.

Thompkins died of his injuries at a hospital.

The elderly driver was at fault. No citations have been issued.
