Employee found dead at tailor’s shop
A woman who worked at Yong’s tailor shop/cleaners in the 3800 block of Maizeland Road (at North Academy Boulevard) was found dead this afternoon by a customer, police said.
Colorado Springs police were called to the scene about 3 p.m. The woman, whose name and age is not being released pending notification of relatives, appeared to suffer head trauma, police said.
The woman’s vehicle, a gold or tan 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with Colorado license plate 584OMI, is missing, said Colorado Police Sgt. Chuck Potter. The Pathfinder was seen at the business earlier today, he said.
The Colorado Secretary of State’s website lists the owner of the tailor shop as Yong Hui Glenn.
Mabel Murrieta, who works two doors from the tailor shop at Super Carniceria Del Norte, a meat market, said co-workers heard a small explosion, like a shot, but did not hear any yelling or see anything suspicious. Firefighters arrived shortly afterward, followed by police, she said.
