A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today for David Hames, the Colorado Springs freelance filmmaker killed in the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti.
The service at Vanguard Church, 3958 N. Academy Blvd., is open to the public.
Hames was in the Hotel Montana lobby when the earthquake struck. His remains were found about three weeks later. Hames was in Haiti filming a project for Compassion International.
Another Springs man, Compassion worker Dan Woolley, was rescued from the rubble of the hotel about three days after the earthquake.
Hames is survived by his wife, Renee, and two young sons, Aidan and Zander.
