A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Tuesday afternoon after losing control of his car on Powers Boulevard near Dublin Boulevard and rolling across the median into oncoming traffic, colliding with a car carrying a toddler.

Benson Hoover, 30, was northbound in a 1998 Nissan Maxima just after 1:30 p.m. when his car veered into the median. The car rolled into the southbound lanes and was struck by a 2002 Mazda Tribute, Colorado Springs Police said.

The driver of the Mazda, 26-year-old Christina Boyce, was hospitalized with serious bodily injuries. A 2-year-old in the Mazda was in a car seat and sustained minor injuries.

Hoover may face felony DUI charges.
