South Dakota fugitive captured in Park County
A South Dakota woman suspected of attempting to kill her parents in Rapid City was arrested Wednesday in Park County after a three-week search that included a standoff at what turned out to be an empty motel room in Colorado Springs.
Casey Eleeson, 22, was captured by a multicounty SWAT team in a subdivision near Lake George. Eleeson is accused of shooting her mother and stabbing her father last month.
Seth Ebert, 34, was also arrested Wednesday on suspicion of harboring a criminal, criminal trespass and two outstanding warrants.
It is believed the pair fled South Dakota in a stolen vehicle after the assault on Eleeson’s parents.
Believing the couple were at the Aztec Motel, 1921 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs police cordoned off the area December 30. The fugitives either were never at the motel or had left before police arrived.
In a court advisement today, Eleeson agreed to be extradited to South Dakota.
