This week’s peak performer: D’Shara Strange, F-FC
D’Shara Strange is more than a scoring machine.
The Fountain-Fort Carson senior leads the girls’ basketball team in almost every category, and was good for 27 points, 18 rebounds, and six steals during the Trojans’ 60-32 win over Coronado on Saturday.
Strange, who will play for Northern Colorado next year, also scored 20 points to lead the Pikes Peak No. 5 Trojans (10-2) to a 41-40 upset of No. 3 Palmer on Thursday.
“We had never beaten them before, so that was huge as far as confidence in what we can do in the league,” Fountain-Fort Carson coach Harry Knight said. “D’Shara obviously makes plays for us, but she is a very humble player. She’s the best one out there, but she has the determination to help the team play the best it can.”

What’s the most intimidating gym for you to walk into?For me personally, it’s the YMCA on Jetwing. That’s where a lot of the Sierra boys like to play and they’re really good and they’re big! But it’s fun to play with them.
