A juvenile was arrested Wednesday after allegedly driving into a group of Doherty classmates, striking five.

Several of the students were in the Family Dollar parking lot at 4609 Austin Bluffs Parkway waiting for rides home, police said, when the suspect, who goes to another school, came to pick up his girlfriend. He  reportedly made obscene gestures to the students, and after they confronted him, drove toward them.

The five injured students sustained minor-to-serious injuries.

The suspect was arrested a short distance away on suspicion of second-degree assault.

No names or ages were released.
