Pedestrian hit by pickup truck dies of injuries
The 66-year-old woman hit by a pickup truck after running in front of rush-hour traffic Tuesday night died Wednesday morning of her injuries, police said.
Juana Servantes Decavellero did not have the right-of-way about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was crossing Circle Drive from east to west along the south curb of Platte Avenue, police said. Decavellero waited for the car in front of the pickup to pass but then ran in front of the pickup, driven by 70-year-old Jesse Mabe, police said.
Decavellero died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Mabe will not be ticketed in the incident, police said.
It is the city’s 22nd fatal car accident of the year.
