A local health care administrator has been awarded Medical Manager of the Year by a professional association that represents medical office managers, and the Colorado Springs chapter of the organization was recognized as Chapter of the Year.

Janet Burch, the practice administrator for Pikes Peak Nephrology Associates, was recognized by the Professional Association of Healthcare Office Management for her efforts growing a local chapter. As president, she helped build the program from half a dozen members to more than 60. The local chapter educates medical office workers and contributes to local charities.

The association has 29 chapters nationwide.
