Military affairs to dominate Udall’s visit to Springs
U.S. Sen. Mark Udall comes to town Wednesday to meet with and introduce his new military advisory committee, convened to brainstorm what his office described as the “immediate and long-term goals for the military, veterans care and the defense industry in Colorado.” A press conference is scheduled for 1:30; The Gazette will be there but the public is not invited.
Making his second visit to Colorado Springs since being sworn in in January, Udall, D-Colo., is also scheduled to tour the 50th Space Wing and the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center at Schriever Air Force Base. That part’s closed to the press and the public.
On Thursday, the senator’s scheduled to be at Fort Carson to confer with Maj. Gen. David Perkins, commander of the Fourth Infantry Division, and Col. Jimmie Keenan, commander of Evans Army Hospital.
