Quarterback

Brad Johnson, Cowboys: For the next few weeks Dallas will lean on Marion Barber even more, but the Cowboys didn’t acquire Roy Williams to go with Terrell Owens and Jason Witten to strictly run the ball. Johnson will still put up plenty of yards and touchdowns.

Running back

Warrick Dunn, Buccaneers: With all their fullbacks injured, Tampa Bay moved Earnest Graham to the position last week and made Dunn the featured back. Graham will likely still get the goal-line carries, but Dunn could be the featured back.

Receiver

Joey Galloway, Buccaneers: Monitor if Galloway practices this week, but if he is ready to play use him against the Seahawks. With Jeff Garcia being named the starter, Tampa Bay is more likely to at least attempting throwing the ball deep.

Sleeper

Donnie Avery, WR, Rams: Dallas will be without its top two corner backs from opening day and the Cowboys will likely focus on stopping Torry Holt. Avery had four catches for 73 yards last week and if the Rams fall behind he could top those numbers.

Avoid

Thomas Jones, RB, Jets: Managed only 3.8 yards per carry last week against the Bengals. Sure he scored three touchdowns, but he has to be considered a shaky play going forward. Owners had to hope he would have had more burst in his legs following a bye week.

ANGIE DISALVO’S PICKS

Quarterback

Jake Delhomme, Panthers: Delhomme threw three interceptions last week, so he’ll have something to prove against New Orleans. Plus, the Saints defense is 21st in passing yards allowed per game (227.3).

Running back

Michael Pittman, Broncos: After Pittman’s 109-yard performance against Jacksonville, coach Mike Shanahan pretty much said Pittman will become Denver’s everydown back even when Selvin Young returns.

Receiver

Hines Ward, Steelers: Ward has more catches (24) and touchdowns (four) than younger compatriot Santonio Holmes (17 catches, one touchdown). He also leads the team in both categories.

Sleeper

Bernard Berrian, WR, Vikings: Since Gus Frerotte took over under center, Berrian has had at least 78 yards receiving per game. He had over 100 yards and a touchdown the past two weeks. And he’s playing against his former team in Chicago.

Avoid

Wes Welker, WR, Patriots: Welker leads the Patriots in receptions (36) and yards (324), but he has yet to find the end zone. And with stat-killer Matt Cassel as quarterback, it’s unlikely he will find it this week, even against Denver (last in passing defense).
