LAS VEGAS – Ryan Reser finally did it.   The Olympic Training Center resident atoned for two failed Olympic bids by beating Chuck Jefferson twice to win the 160.9-pound division of the U.S. Olympic judo trials Saturday at Thomas & Mack Center.   Reser, 28, topped Bill Shanahan and Nick Delpopolo before losing to Jefferson in the challenge bracket finals. He bounced back with consecutive wins over Jefferson in the best-of-three championship series.   “It feels great,” said Reser, an alternate for the 2000 Sydney Games and 2004 Athens Games. “I put in my time. And I took my losses and learned from it.”   Fighting for nothing    Kayla Harrison (172) and Heidi Moore (172-plus) won judo weight classes without Olympic quota spots. Wrestler Mike Zadick edged Shawn Bunch in the finals of the 132 Greco-Roman division, which isn’t qualified for the Beijing Games.   Calling it quits    Colorado Springs wrestlers Marcel Cooper, Jacob Hey and Keith Sieracki retired after dropping Greco-Roman matches, placing their shoes at the center of the mat.   In the 145.5 consolation bracket, Cooper, 37, an Army staff sergeant, lost to Harry Lester and Hey, 33, an Air Force staff sergeant, lost to James Johnson. Sieracki, 36, an Army staff sergeant, lost to Cheney Haight in the 163 semifinals.   “The last couple years, it has been like a job rather than the love of it,” Sieracki said. “I’m kind of afraid to leave what I have. But you’ve got to move on.”   Said Hey: “I thought about it a lot. It’s time to get out. I don’t want to stay in too long.”   Cooper needs surgery on both of his shoulders, his left wrist and his hernia.   “It’s too many injuries, and my body can’t hold up,” Cooper said. “I’ve been doing it a long time. Guys are younger and stronger. I can’t compete at their level no more.”
