Congratulations to Stephanie Rieg of Colorado Springs and Carlos Rincon of the US Air Force Academy for winning $1,500 scholarships courtesy of the Fisher House Foundation and Scholarships for Military Children.

Over 5,000 students applied for the scholarships at commisaries all over the world. With steep requirements such as maintaining a 3.0 GPA, participate in voluntary school and community activities, demonstrate leadership qualities, and write an essay, the selection process wasn’t easy.

Stephanie was in NHS, Irish Dance, Academic Letter, High Trails Counsler, and an AP Scholar Award. She plans to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Carlos was an Americorps Service Member, Energy Service Corps, Dean’s List, and varsity football and wrestling. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
