An Iraqi man was acquitted Thursday of three felony charges against him in connection with the brutal rape of a Colorado Springs woman, and convicted of two misdemeanor charges.

Also, the jury could not reach agreement on a fourth felony charge against Yasir Jabbar Jasim, 21.

The misdemeanor convictions were for false reporting; he was acquitted on accessory to rape charges. Prosecutors are expected to announce Monday whether they will re-try Jasim on the felony accessory charge where jurors could not reach a verdict.

He was accused of watching two friends assault the woman and not intervening, as well as cleaning up blood after the attack and lying to police.

He is one of five men, all of whom reportedly immigrated to the United States with the military’s help after assisting troops in war in Iraq, who were charged in connection with the rape.

Ali Mohammed Hasan Al Juboori, 24, pleaded guilty last month to making a false statement under a plea deal in which he agreed to testify against the other men. The three other men await trial.
