Construction on the north gate at Peterson Air Force Base, near the intersection of Platte Avenue and Peterson Boulevard, started Tuesday.

Commuters can expect delays because inbound and outbound lanes are each reduced to one lane.

The project is expected to be complete in mid-July.

Those who need to access Peterson are encouraged to use the west and east gates during construction to minimize delays.

The project will improve the gate’s infrastructure and security features, according to a Peterson press release.
