Open house and pine needle drop off at Lake George Fire
Lake George Fire Protection District is hosting an Open House on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their Station One, 8951 Park County Road 90 in Lake George. The Open House will coincide with their pine needle collection which will take place June 5-7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Open House will feature information booths from South Park Ambulance District, Habitat Partnership Program, Park County Public Health, Rocky Mountain Rural Health, Mount Carmel, Coalition for the Upper South Platte, Park County Senior Coalition, Ute Pass Regional Ambulance District, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Fire Adapted Bailey, United States Forest Service, Teller Park Conservation, UC Health Lifeline, Corner Care Team, fire mitigation information and more. There will also be food trucks available.
They will be accepting bagged pine needles, pine cones, and/or leaves (no slash). They request that smaller bags be used rather than the larger as they are easier to work with.
“We are more than happy to host this type of event to help people learn of the services that are available. It’s a good way to keep our community informed and aware,” said Chief Susan Bernstetter.
This is a good opportunity to learn and become aware of services available in the area and mingle with friends and neighbors. And a good time to get rid of accumulated pine needles on your property. For more information, contact the fire department at 719-748-3022.
