Thunderbirds practice schedule over Pikes Peak area set for late May

The Thunderbirds are set to arrive at the end of May, just ahead of the Air Force Academy graduation.

The team of F-16 pilots is scheduled to practice their aerial acrobatics from noon to 5 p.m. on May 27 over Falcon Stadium, according to the academy’s schedule.

The official graduation airshow is planned from 11:25 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. on May 28.

Drivers observing the practice flight or the show are asked to pull over.

Last year, the Thunderbirds did not roar over the graduation ceremony due to low cloud cover and inclement weather. It was only the second time in academy history that the Thunderbirds did not fly.
