Mother’s Day was Sunday. Did you remember her? I did.

David Gates wrote the poignant and soulful song “Everything I Own” as a tribute to his late father. His band, “Bread,” recorded the haunting ballad in 1972. When I hear it, I think of Mom, whom I lost to cancer in 2001. I’d give anything for just one hour with her.
