Courier letters to the editor

The price at the pump: A response

Gasoline prices have temporarily risen due to the war in Iran, but the author, in his March 25 letter to the editor, omits the fact that gas prices under Biden were also very high. Then we quickly move into our nation’s character. Based on this letter to the editor, along with previous others, I am compelled to think our author has a case of TDS.

While our current president may have some bull-in-a-China-shop character traits, they are certainly better than those of Obama and Biden when we sent pallets, billions of American taxpayer dollars to appease the Iranians, to no avail. It would be well for the author to state that other Arab nations are now coming to the aid and support the president, because they too know that Iran is a disruptive force in the world and Arab countries. The president is trying to end a 47-year-old war with Iranians who have killed many Americans and thousands of their own people.

Next November, let us draw on our commonsense values and send candidates who do not have TDS and who stand for good American values. Let’s send candidates who do not think shutting down the government is the best way to solve legislative issues, candidates who want to deport illegal criminals, and candidates like Fetterman (D) who are standing up for common sense legislation to move our nation forward without all of the hypocrisy, lies and anti-Trump rhetoric of the current Democratic Congressional leadership.

A note about my candidacy

I would like to thank the Courier and Pat Hill for covering my announcement of my candidacy for Teller County commissioner, District 2, in November’s General Election.

There was one point not covered that I wish to make voters aware of: If elected, I will be donating the salary for the position to nonprofits within Teller County. I have had a successful career and do not need the salary. I would rather utilize the sizeable amount to further help out county residents.
