Grace and truth

First, my condolences for the loss of your cousin. Renee Good’s death was indeed a tragedy. No one should be anything but sorry that it happened.

Second, a few questions: You say that you gave up watching the news because of “misleading spins and untruths,” yet you refer to your cousin’s death as a “murder.” Has that actually been determined? Is the use of such a loaded word not its own bit of spin and untruth, at least at this point? Despite your denial, you did “draw conclusions” about the agent, did you not? If she was murdered, why was the bullet hole in the front windshield? If Ms. Good had succeeded in running over the ICE agent, would you have called that a murder, or would it be something else? Seems to me that the truth of the situation is critical to our evaluation of it.

Grace is a very appropriate response, but grace and truth are even better.

Rick Walton, Florissant

Goodbye, Mick

Farewell, Mick Bates. Thank you for your service on the RE2 Board of Education — Woodland Park.

We knew the three G’s were sounding campaign malarkey with their, “We will work with everyone.” We and they knew it was hollow because it is impossible. No one can do it. Plus, we know that we don’t know where they are taking the schools as they would only say, “Forward.” We do know that could mean advance to the rear.

Thankfully, the reporter gave 1.75 inches of the article to the whole point of a school board—the goal and improvement of excellence in education. Most of the 26 inches were dedicated to liberals fighting the school board for the past three years. The board did move the schools to improvement. Thank you.

It behooves conservatives to observe the newly elected board with x-ray accuracy as it, probably, returns to a focus on other nonsense than academic excellence — much like it did 10 years ago. We know liberals are suicidal as they canceled the local sales tax within months of it being voter approved. So much for listening to the people.
