Indoor golf facility opens in Northgate area
Golfers in northern El Paso County can now get their swings in any time of day and any day of the year.
Cliff and Sommer Rakes have brought a Back Nine golf franchise to 12245 Voyager Parkway, Suite 162. They celebrated their grand opening on Nov. 8.
“We’d been looking to franchise for a while and this is what we decided to go with,” Cliff Rakes said. “We came across an ad for it on the phone when we were scrolling one day and I said, ‘that looks like an amazing business opportunity.’”
Back Nine features Full Swing simulators, which analyze ball and club speed, ball flight, launch angle, side spin and other factors to imitate accurate ball flight. Where the ball lands with the simulator will be just like it would if you were at the course.
“Full Swing is one of the premier simulator brands on the market,” Rakes said. “They have amazing ball analytics and club head analytics.”
Want to play TPC Sawgrass? You can. Pebble Beach? Yup. Ancient St. Andrews? That, too. In fact, you can choose from one of 60 famous courses.
And you can do it 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Back Nine is membership-based and has three bays. According to the company’s website, you can expect to play 18 holes in just 45-60 minutes.
The Rakes’ signed up to become franchisees in March, just a week after first contacting the company.
“The Back Nine corporate and everybody from the top down has been amazing to work with,” Cliff Rakes said.
Aside from the day-to-day operations, The Rakes’ plan to host simulator tournaments and kids’ camps.
