38 reasons to be thankful | D38 Leadership Update

With Thanksgiving only a week away, it’s the perfect time to express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve as superintendent of Lewis-Palmer School District. Our mission in D38 involves a partnership with all of us—parents, the community, and educators. Together, we deliver on our vision of, “Elevating Every Student, Every Day.” To all of you, I say, “Thank you.” We have much to be grateful for, so let me share a few reasons (38 to be exact, in no special order) why I love serving this district.

3. Our support staff are the best and essential to what we do.

4. Our students are academically among the brightest in the state.

5. D38 programs focus on meeting the needs of every student.

6. Our families are highly involved and supportive.

7. Our Board of Education serves with integrity and dedication.

8. D38 has strong partnerships with businesses and organizations.

9. Our community truly values education.

10. We all place student and staff safety as the top priority.

11. Staff in our schools know our students on an individual level.

12. D38 has a reputation in our region and state of excellence.

13. We believe in blending tradition and innovation.

14. Building secretaries are the best at keeping our schools organized.

15. We love sharing the good news of what takes place in D38 every day.

16. Our counselors are excellent at preparing students for life after high school.

17. We opened the Career & Innovation Center this year.

18. Our fine arts programs showcase amazing student talent.

19. We are committed to fiscal stewardship.

20. Our athletic programs excel at teaching teamwork and dedication.

21. We have several staff who are D38 alumni too.

22. Local first responders are dedicated to supporting our schools.

23. Our schools are beautiful thanks to facilities and grounds staff.

24. Our employees genuinely care about each other.

25. Our teachers care deeply about each and every student.

26. We believe in open and transparent communication.

27. Our school nurses compassionately care for our students.

28. Our bus drivers and transportation team place safety first.

29. All staff are committed to supporting our schools.

30. Our school meals are nutritious and delicious.

31. Special education teams meet students where they are and celebrate them.

32. Parents in our district believe that learning is a high priority in D38.
