Gordon, Gilgenast and Greenstreet hold big leads in school board race

It looks like the three Gs will be overseeing the learning of the three Rs.

Laura Gordon, Kassidi Gilgenast and Carol Greenstreet each held commanding leads after the Teller County Clerk posted the initial, unofficial results of the Woodland Park School District Board of Directors race Tuesday evening.

Gordon led Bert West 59.68% to 40.32% in District B at large, Gilgenast led Norm Michaels 52.47% to 37.53% in District D and Greenstreet led Clayton Austin 59.62% to 40.38% in District E.

With over 5,800 votes counted so far in each of the three races, the final tallies could wobble but it’s unlikely that the winner will be anyone but the current leaders.

The result could change the face of Woodland Park education.

Gordon, Gilgenast and Greenstreet each represent a move away from many of the directions of the current school board.
