4 Colorado restaurants among nation’s ‘top 100’ most romantic spots
In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, Yelp released a list of the “top 100” most romantic restaurants in the United States and four spots in Colorado made the cut for inclusion.
To create the list, Yelp identified businesses in the restaurants and food categories with a large concentration of reviews mentioning words and phrases such as “romantic,” “date night” and “valentine.” Then they ranked those places using factors like the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning those keywords, including a maximum of five businesses per city.
Denver’s Guard and Grace came in at 31st overall. The restaurant is a modern steakhouse serving a variety of steaks, small plates and fine wine in a bright, airy space. The restaurant also features a raw bar and patio. With 4.5 stars on Yelp, reviewers rave about the food, service and ambience.
Odyssey Italian Restaurant in Denver ranked 50th. Opened in 2012, Chef Ignazio Mulei’s food is “savored for special events and destination dining,” making it a great choice for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. The restaurant’s menu includes familiar Italian dishes made with family recipes.
Fort Collins’ Social ranked 51st. Located underground, this locally-owned cocktail bar provides an intimate speakeasy atmosphere. Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails, wine, charcuterie, and other small plates. The bar has 4.8 stars on Yelp, and reviewers discuss the excellent service and say that it’s a “very fun, energetic and social place.”
Nocturne, a jazz club in Denver, placed 73rd. As well as wine, cocktails and food, the club offers live jazz music. The “dinner and a show” experiences includes live music along with a three-course dinner. Yelp reviewers claim the club has an intimate atmosphere, with one saying they would “recommend this venue to any couple for a date night or a sophisticated alternative night out.”
