The suspect in the shooting death of two people in a University of Colorado Colorado Springs dorm room has a court appearance Friday, scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
Nicholas Jordan appeared in 4th Judicial Court on Tuesday, when his bail was increased from $1 million to $5 million cash-only.
Jordan, 25, was arrested Monday morning, three days after he allegedly shot and killed Samuel Knopp, 24, and Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, in Crestone House, a dormitory in the Alpine Village community on UCCS campus. The Colorado Springs Police Department said Jordan is from Detroit and was found in a vehicle about 3 miles west of campus.
Judge David Shakes on Friday granted the release of the arrest affidavit and denied a motion by the defense to have trial coverage restricted due to its argument that publicity would affect the case.

In court on Tuesday prosecution argued that Jordan presented a flight risk and was planning to flee the state. The district attorney also said that Jordan was a potential danger to the community due to the nature of the charges and that a firearm was allegedly found in his vehicle at the time of his arrest.
In the bond agreement Jordan is required to relinquish his passport. Bond may be argued again at Jordan’s first appearance at the end of the week.
Colorado Springs police confirmed on Tuesday morning that Jordan was a roommate with one of the victims.
Knopp and Montgomery were found dead with at least one gunshot wound each just after 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, by UCCS campus police. Reports of shots fired came in at 5:59 a.m.
According to police, Knopp and Jordan were roommates, though the motive and what led to the shooting remain unclear. Both Jordan and Knopp were registered students of the university at the time of the shooting. CSPD noted all three knew each other.
